The finale.

I loved it! Perfectly lovely ending, hit all the right notes. It was really sweet and well suited. Really nice way to really end it.

I was quite surprised at the backlash online/tweeter but then discovered it was a certain fraction of the fandom making a whole lot of noise. I thought the end was fitting to the theme of the whole series. What did you think?

Okay... so they went for that at the end. :)

I really loved seeing them back in the saddle doing basic work again for a moment there.
Showing FBI badges and everything. Great throwback to the ordinary, run of the mill, Supernatural episode.

Then that happened... and from there on it was just dwindling down to the end.
A real proper ending I guess. I wouldn't have mind seeing them continue with their work. Having them driving away on some new mission as the last shot.
But okay, this was good too. Perhaps the best way to do it actually.

I was left with a good feeling. Their story feels truly over.

I love that Dean as a dog!
This was the emotional ending, the going out on a hunt. I did think when it was vampires that, it might end with them as vampires like we had seen in one of Chuck drafts, but no impaled on a metal rod, kinda lame, but I think in a way it had to be a simple, if slightly long death. The final speech by Dean was good though, with the parallels to the first episode, not wanting to go on alone.

Deans dies and Sam gets a dog, haven't we had that before though!

Did he marry Eileen? I need to rewatch it to see if it was her, would've been nice if it was.

I don't think you can see her face. I think they probably did that on purpose, either because the actress couldn't be there cos covid or they didn't want us to know it was her for sure. She does have brown hair. The kid has the protection tattoo so maybe a hunter as well, or at least knows the family history.

Where was the ugly monkey at Bobbies place from? It seemed really out of place so it must have featured some where before.

I laughed when Dean got in his car and said "I love this song" when it came on. It almost felt like those outtakes from earlier in the series. I bet he's sick to death of that song. Dean was super cute whole rest of the show. And the brother hug awwwwww.

I liked it :)

I've spent way to much time on shows having crappy unsatisfying endings lately, which I think made me appreciate this one a bit more than I ordinarily would have.

I actually don't mind the way that Dean died. I understand why some people feel like it should have been a more epic death or whatever, but it felt fitting in its way to me. Chuck's plot armor had been removed and he went out doing what he does. Although, I wish he had lived longer. It seemed like it happened fairly quickly after everything with Chuck.

I did tear up at the whole montage of Dean driving and Sam getting older. Although, that wig?! That definitely took me out of the moment for a second and made me laugh, haha.

I choose to believe that Sam married Eileen :)

I cried at the end, when Sammy arrived and Dean hugged him on the bridge. Getting soft in my old age ;)

The thankyou was sweet, and my heart broke for the whole team when I saw the uproar on twitter. It was certainly not as bad as The 100, and that was really well received, imho, only because it featured the reunion of a gay couple. It is awful that Jim got driven to delete his twit account, of all the people to target, they saw his soft heart and went in for the kill. Its brutal out there!

Although, that wig?!

There are so many bad wigs in ultra pretty shows! (see: tvd, twilight). Its like they blow the budget on make up and then top it off with a silly hat. I wonder though, if it was a bit of a lol for Jared after so many years of fussing with Sams hair? I thought he was going to off himself in Baby that day, so that scene took me out of it for a minute too.

The music of these shows really add to the impact for me. It was a version of carry on that I had not heard before, and probably not one I would like as much if not connected to this episode.

Jim as in Beaver, yeah? That's just sad.

Yeah Jim Beaver. Some fans were furious that he was in the finale and Castiel sucking face with Dean was not. He was so proud of his work before that, keeping everyone up to date with what had been filmed, when he had finished and how he felt. I almost cried thinking of him being sad, so soon after so many other personal problems, that the fans were mad with him. It just sucks when the thankful voices are drowned out by the hateful.

Mark was the only one I saw who stood up for him,

Seems the boys have stayed quiet, just promoting the next shows, probably the best way to go about it, so not to attract too much negativity. I do wonder about the age gap between those who appreciated it and those who did not. Its why I think I have probably outgrown fandoms as a whole, because there is just too much of a gap between my experience and that of the new generation. I love fandom but hate the politics of it.

It was great that we saw Bobby at true peace in his little shack drinking cheap beer. It is super cute to imagine Cas and Jack travelling the universe together after restoring a heaven (as earth) and creating a new father/son dynamic. I didn't expect to have that little happy, and am thankful for it. Who else could they have had to explain the new order of heaven than Bobby? It just made sense.

Those final few episodes were brutal everyone started dropping like flies, they went from a family of 4 to a family of 1 it kind of reminded me of Angel's ending. But it was great television, Dean's death scene destroyed me, and made me feel guilty about thinking of replacing him with Sam as my favourite character :( I think Dean will always be my favourite overall.

Bobby being there was the bees knees for me, and I will fight anyone who wanted Cas there instead.

I didn’t like seeing Dean die, I was so happy he got a dog!, I basically wanted them riding off into the sunset together, future death untold.

But happy in heaven, eh, I guess, it was ok. I cried. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. It was a good wrap up though. Felt very final.

Yeah I feel the same. Getting nailed on the hunt really is exactly what Dean would have wanted.
